The interior of the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is designed for the transport of passengers and goods. It offers a maximum cargo volume of 98 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down. The vehicle can seat up to eight people. Buyers can choose between a second-row bench seat or two separate chairs, known as captain’s chairs. 

The vehicle includes a power liftgate system called AutoSense. This system allows the rear door of the SUV to open without the use of hands. This feature is intended to assist users when they are carrying items. The interior materials and seat functions change based on the trim level. For example, the High Country trim includes seats that fold using electric power.

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is sold in several different versions. These versions are called trims. Each trim has different parts and visual styles.

Technology and Connectivity 

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse contains several electronic displays. Every model comes with a 17.7-inch diagonal touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. There is also an 11-inch screen located behind the steering wheel that shows data to the driver. 

The software system uses Google built-in technology. This allows the driver to use Google Maps and Google Assistant. The vehicle also supports wireless connections for smartphones through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This removes the need for physical cables to connect a phone to the car’s screen. 

Selected trims, such as the RS and High Country, offer a driving system called Super Cruise. This system allows the car to steer itself on specific roads. There are currently over 585,000 miles of these roads in the United States and Canada. This system requires a subscription to OnStar services. 

Engine and Mechanical Performance 

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse uses a 2.5-liter engine. This engine has four cylinders and a turbocharger. It is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, the vehicle can pull a trailer weighing up to 5,000 lbs. 

The Z71 trim has specific mechanical parts for driving in dirt or mud. These include a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system and a mode for different types of ground. It also has a system to help the car go down hills at a steady speed. The Z71 uses 18-inch wheels with tires made for all types of ground. 

Safety Systems 

Chevrolet provides over 20 standard safety features on the 2026 Traverse. These features are meant to help the driver avoid accidents. 

• Forward Collision Alert: Warns the driver of a possible crash. 

• Lane Keep Assist: Helps the driver stay inside the lines on the road.
